VISUAL ARTIST AND GRAPHIC DESIGNER
Nishimoto studied Visual Communication and Graphic Design at the University of Brasilia (1999), the city where he lived for 17 years. Grandson of Japanese people, who provided the artist with direct contact with Japanese culture, in 2008 he returned to his hometown, Goiânia, where he now lives and works. He works as a visual artist, designer and art director. He also worked as a professor at a higher level in various disciplines of Art and Graphic Design. He is currently developing teaching work in Botanical and Fauna Illustration and Art History.
Nishimoto's works are laborious with traditional techniques, in order to capture and make visible the richness of biodiversity. The theme that he lately explores in his works is the Brazilian fauna and flora. The artist does extensive research on the abundance of native life in Brazil like the first naturalist scientists who arrived in the country and, fascinated by the biodiversity of the Americas, portrayed the living beings here. Birds, plants, insects and other forms of life are the elements that Nishimoto brings to the focus of his art and that lead us to reflect on the variety and future of these species. The artist has already participated in several group and individual exhibitions in Goiânia and abroad and has his works included in collections in several places in Brazil and abroad.
